Service 03 · Media Relations
After 15 years of working only in tech, our media relationships are the deepest you'll find in Europe. We don't pitch from a database. We pick up the phone to journalists who already know us, and they answer because we don't waste their time.
What's Included
Who It's For
Funding round, product launch, customer win, market entry. The story is real but you don't have the relationships to make it land in tier-1.
You got placements, technically, but they were in publications your buyers don't read. The strategy and the relationships were thin.
Beachhut runs both project-based campaigns and ongoing retainers. Most of our clients move from the former to the latter.
Our Process
Understand the news, the audience, the timeline, and the existing competitive landscape.
Build the press list, the framings, the embargo plan, and the tier-1 exclusive strategy.
Direct briefings with journalists. Embargo enforcement. Reactive amendments.
Coverage analysis, SOV tracking, post-campaign learnings for the next round.
Media Relations FAQ
What is tech media relations?
Tech media relations is the practice of building and maintaining direct relationships with the journalists, analysts, and editors who cover technology, then using those relationships to secure thoughtful, accurate coverage for client companies. Beachhut focuses exclusively on tech, which makes our relationships unusually deep.
How is media relations different from a PR pitch?
A PR pitch is a one-off email asking a journalist to cover a specific story. Media relations is the long-term work of being known and trusted by the journalist, so when you do pitch, you get answered. A specialist tech PR agency invests in the second.
Which publications does Beachhut PR work with?
Tier-1: Financial Times, Reuters, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, Sifted, Wired, MIT Technology Review. Trade specialist: Finextra, The Paypers, Silicon Republic, UploadVR, The Register, Bloomberg Green, Tech.eu. Plus regional press across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the broader EU.
